WA EAST: Manwe-Naa Appeals To Government For A Polyclinic
The paramount chief of Manwe Traditional Area, Naa Abubakari Wiah, has call on H.E the President of the republic of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo, to upgrade the Manwe CHPS Compound into a polyclinic for enhanced health delivery system. . According to Naa Wiah, the current population of Manwe exceeds five thousand, excluding adjoining community within his Traditional Area. He bemoaned, that the surge in population was putting excessive pressure on the CHPS facility, adding that, most of the patients were either referred to Bulenga or Busa health centers for further treatment, since most of the ailments are not allowed to be handled by a CHPS Compound. The Revered Chief made the call at a durbar organized in honor of the president at Manwe, during the president two day working visit to the Upper West Regions. ‘’Your Excellency, if God wills and you are able to retain power, we humbly request, that you consider upgrading our CHPS compound to that of a polyclinic. This has become imperative due to the pressure on the existing facility.’’ Manwe Naa
The president in response, assured the chief, that he has taken note of his requests, pledging to attend to them in his next government. He assured Manwe Naa and his elders that his doors at the Jubilee House are wide opened for Manwe Naa next year, if he is retained as leader of the country for another four years. The president assured Manwe Naa and the people of Wa East that, Wa East district will not be left out in his ‘’agenda 1111’’ to build district hospitals in the remaining districts without district hospital and six regional hospitals for the newly created six regions. H.E the president who doubles as the new patriotic party’s presidential candidate for the 2020 general election paid a two day working visit to the Upper West Region on Friday, 9th October, 2020. H E Nana Akuffo Addo, used the occasion to appeal to the chiefs and people of Wa East to massively vote for him and his Parliamentary candidate for the Wa Eeast constituency, Hon Salifu Yakubu.
