Wa Catholic Diocese advocates for interfaith harmony

In a powerful message of peace and unity, Rev. Fr. Dr Aloysius Nuolabong of the Catholic Diocese of Wa has urged Muslims and Christians to embrace harmony and work together for the greater good of society.

Addressing a congregation of Muslims during the 2025 Eid Ul Fitr prayers in Wa, Rev. Fr. Nuolabong, affectionately known as Father Alhaji, emphasized that differences in religious beliefs should never be a barrier to peaceful coexistence.

Instead, he called for a collaborative effort to support the less privileged, particularly the youth and widows.

"While our faiths may differ, our humanity binds us together. Let us focus on what unites us—our shared responsibility to care for the needy and uplift the poor," he stated.

Rev. Fr. Nuolabong also stressed the importance of equipping young people with vocational skills to help them secure a brighter future. He advocated for the building of training centres to provide practical skills that would empower individuals to become self-sufficient.

His call for interfaith unity has been widely praised, with many community leaders echoing the need for cooperation in fostering development and peace in the region.
