Upper West Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Madam Maria Johana Yuorpor, has extended warm New Year wishes to the public, emphasizing the importance of self-betterment and compassion as Ghana enters 2026. Speaking at a gathering organized by the Upper West Regional Branch of the Ghana Red Cross Society on the eve of the New Year, Madam Maria called on citizens to strive to be the best versions of themselves, live life fully, and foster love among those around them.
Madam Maria, who also serves as CEO of Mara Foods and as Coordinator of the Northern Development Authority, encouraged Ghanaians to approach the new year with a mindset of positivity and purpose. “Live your life as if it’s your last, give your best in everything you do, and love more the people around you,” she advised.
Reflecting on her initiatives in 2025, Madam Maria highlighted her successful campaign aimed at inspiring young people to shift away from blaming authorities for societal problems. Instead, she urged youth to see themselves as active problem-solvers and agents of change, emphasizing that solutions lie within their own hands.
She also shared lessons from the past year, urging the public to use those experiences as guiding principles for a prosperous and impactful 2026. “2025 brought many lessons that should inspire us to build a better and brighter future,” she remarked.
