Upper West Regional House of Chiefs pledges support for Speaker


The Upper West Regional House Chiefs has pledged to stay through thick and thin with the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin in his reign as the Speaker of Ghana’s 8th Parliament.


Congratulating Hon. Bagbin on his election as the Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, during a Thanksgiving Service at Sombo in the Nadowli/Kaleo District, a high powered delegation of Paramount Chiefs from the Regional House of Chiefs, the House pledges to solidly stand by the Speaker, at all times for a successful tenure.


According to the House, the success of Hon. Bagbin as Speaker of Parliament, is a success of the region.


The Majority Leader of Parliament, Osei Kyei Menah-Bonsu, on his part, charged the youth of the region to take inspiration from the story of Hon. Alban Bagbin’s perseverance and commitment to education.


According Hon. Kyei-Mensah Bonsu, if Hon. Bagbin could pursue education to the latter, without FCUBE, and the numerous educational interventions being experienced today, there was no reason why one could not pursue education to the latter as Hon. Bagbin did so without FCUBE, Capitation Grant and School Feeding.


Hon. Kyei Mensa Bonsu also announced that, government has secured funds towards giving the Bole-Sawla to Wa stretch a facelift. According to him, government will soon start works on the road to put it in a better shape.
