Madam Prospera Esang, Chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of St. Francis Girls of Assisi, has called for a renewed focus on discipline within schools to foster a more conducive learning environment. In an interview with Info Radio, she emphasized the critical role of establishing robust disciplinary committees and clear behavioral guidelines.

Mrs. Esang highlighted the importance of schools setting transparent rules and ensuring students consistently adhere to them. She advocated for teachers to escalate persistent disciplinary issues to dedicated committees for thorough investigation and appropriate action. “A structured approach to discipline is essential in maintaining order and promoting respect among students,” she noted.

Mrs. Esang underscored that discipline should extend beyond students to include teachers. School authorities should define and uphold high standards of professional conduct, coupled with regular performance reviews and feedback sessions. Such measures, she explained, are vital in ensuring teachers uphold professionalism and effectively contribute to their students’ development.

By strengthening disciplinary frameworks and promoting accountability across all levels, Mrs. Esang believes schools can cultivate disciplined, respectful, and responsible learners and educators alike.
