SDD-UBIDS, UNICEF launch Social and Behavior Change communication certificate course


The United Nation’s Children Fund, UNICEF in collaboration with the SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), have launched a new certificate course, named Social and Behavior Change communication to be run at the school.


The course is to help bridge the development gap in the society.


Speaking at the launch of the course at the SDD-UBIDS, Madam Charity Nikoi, the Communications for Development Officer at UNICEF noted that the SDD-UBIDS is the first university in the country to have the programme launched by UNICEF.


She said the programme will help bridge the employment gap among the youth.


Madam Nikoi indicated that Plans are underway to support the university to introduce the diploma, degree and post-graduate course in Social and Behavior Change Communication.


She added that Unicef is pledging support to the university to ensure that the vision comes to fruition.


The Pro-Vice Chancellor of the school, Professor Emmanuel Derbile, commended the UNICEF Ghana for introducing the programme in the school.


He said it is a privilege to have the partnership with UNICEF to introduce the programme.


Explaining the qualification requirement for admission into the programme, the Head of Africa and General Studies at the SDD-UBIDS, Dr Damasus Tuurosong, said one needs just passes to gain admission.
