Residents of Zingu Electoral Area, a cluster of communities in the Wa municipality have organized communal labour to reconnect communities in the area who were cut off from Wa after the road was washed away by a heavy rain.
Info Radio Speaking to the Assembly Member of the Area, Honorable Nuhu Abdul Wahab disclosed that the only one-culvert bridge constructed along the road is not adequate to stand the intensity of flooding water , henced, the bridge being washed away after a heavy downpour.
He lamented that, the situation has left commuters who ply the route no option than to pass a long way through Charia, a nearby community to Wa. However, he said the situation has been reported to the Ghana Highways Authority, Urban Roads and the Wa Municipal Assembly but have not receive any attention yet.
The Unit Committee Chairman of the Area Mr. Danbiibu Seidu speaking to Info Radio also appealed to the authorities and all duty-bearers to come to their aid. He said the situation has made farms in the area inaccessible.
