Residents of Korinyiri rejoice over reconstruction of bridge by philanthropist


Residents of Korinyiri, a community under the Naron Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Keleo District have expressed joy about the reconstruction of a deadly bridge on the Naron-Korinyiri road by a philanthropist.


They noted that the bridge was a threat to life as there were frequent accidents in the area.


The broken bridge was reconstructed by Dr Kannyiri Banyen Thadious, a philanthropist, also Development Economist and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Banking and Finance at SDD–University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS).


He said he undertook the venture following the struggle he went through to access the Naron community to supervise his students who were on their community research project in the Nadowli-Kaleo district.


He said it was his own modest way of contributing to the reduction of the plights of the people in the area and users of the road.q


The Assembly Member for Naron Electoral Area, Mr Kpaamah Haruna Mandela congratulated the philanthropist and ask for more developmental projects in the electoral area.


The resident also praised Dr Kannyiri and called on more benevolent ones to come to their aid as there are a lot of challenges in the community.


They lamented about a remained broken bridge on the Korinyiri-Naron road which is a death trap to road users.
