Residents of Kanyini, a farming community in the Nadowli-Kaleo District have appealed to the government and the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly to come to the aid of the community by rehabilitating their poor roads network. The community members speaking to Info Radio in a community durbar disclosed that, the bad nature of their roads makes it difficult for them to access other adjoining communities especially during the raining season. According to members of the Kanyini community, the poor road network in the community makes it impossible for farmers to send their produce to the market to sell, a situation that is negatively affecting their livelihood. Mr. Samba, a resident of the community speaking to Info Radio called on authorities to expedite action in fixing their roads.
In the area of Education and Health, a cross-section of women in the Kanyini community are calling also on the Nadowli-Kaleo District assembly and the District Education Directorate to post more teachers to the Kanyini KG pre-school since the only teacher posted to the school is unable to take care of the growing number of Pupils at the school. The Kanyini women also appealed to the District assembly to construct a maternity block for the community. According to them, the absence of a maternity unit at their community CHPS compound is compelling women in the community to deliver at home instead of a health facility. Madam Portia and Sofia Nagaayeng, both resident of the Kanyini community speaking to info Radio appealed to the government to heed to their plea and come to their aid.
