Mr Alhassan Abdul-Nasiri, Manager of the Upper West Regional Blood Bank, has encouraged the public to make voluntary blood donation a part of their lives.

He emphasizes that donating blood to any health facility can save lives and brings blessings to the donor.

In an interview with Info Radio during a blood donation exercise organized by the National Insurance Commission in Wa, Mr Abdul-Nasiri explains that waiting to donate blood when someone has a patient at the facility is not helpful because of the process.

Instead, he urges people to donate blood to store for use when the need arises. He emphasizes that donating blood has no side effects and can improve the donor's health status.

Mr Abdul-Nasiri also highlights that the Upper West Regional Hospital is the major referral centre in the region and requires constant availability of blood.

Thus, regular voluntary blood donation is necessary to ensure a constant supply of blood at the facility.
