Poor road network in Kpagidiga, a farming community in the Nadowli-Kaleo District is retarding development, Assembly Member of the area, Mr Mohammed Hudu, has bemoaned.

Speaking to Info Radio, Mr Hudu stated that the poor road network is affecting farming, health and education in the community.

“During the rainy season, the road leading to Kpagidiga, a significant agricultural community in the area, becomes unusable for vehicles. As a result, a large amount of farm produce is left stranded on the farms since there is no way to transport it to the market center. This situation leads to a considerable waste of our precious crops,” Mr Hudu stated.

He mentioned that teachers and health workers refuse posting to the community due to the deplorable nature of the road coupled with lack of electricity.

Mr Hudu further lamented about activities of Fulani herdsmen in the community causing destructions in their farm.

“There is an issue with Fulani herdsmen who are bringing their cattle into our community. They are destroying our farms and causing a lot of damage. When they are summoned and charged by the community members, they still refuse to pay for the damages they have caused,” he stated.
