Mr. Amatus Zuzie, the Assembly Member for Owlo Electoral Area of the Daffiama-Busie Issa District, has expressed his concern over the lack of adequate school infrastructure at Owlo Tendamba D/A primary school.

He mentioned that the school is moving to JHS without a single structure, and that the absence of a school building is a pressing need for the pupils of that school.

During an interview with Info Radio in Wa, Mr Zuzie explained that the primary school is currently using someone's house as a temporary structure. He lamented that the Owlo R/C JHS is also in a poor state, with students having to lean against walls whenever it rains.

The Assembly Member mentioned that a philanthropist had started building a structure for the school, but the project has come to a halt.

“Currently, the roofing of the Junior High School is leaking. Whenever it rains, the students have to lean against the walls to avoid getting wet. The community had previously appealed to the District Chief Executive (DCE) concerning this issue.”

“However, the DCE had stated that the assembly had already planned its Medium Term Development Plan and could not add any more projects until they had executed the current plan,” he added.

Mr. Zuzie expressed that the shortage of furniture in schools across the electoral area is a significant issue. He lamented the inadequate number of teachers in the school.

He mentioned the measures he has taken to address the shortage of teachers and ensure that the schools have enough qualified teachers

“As an assembly member and teacher, I understand the situation of teachers in our district. I have reached out to the District Education Directorate and am optimistic that we will receive teachers at Owlo when they are assigned to the district.”
