NPP Elections: I'm seeking re-election to complete unfinished business - SB Kangbere

The incumbent Upper West Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. S. B. Kangbere, has indicated that his quest to run for the chairmanship position for the second time is due to his quest to complete his unfinished business for the party.

He said it was part of his objective as the leader of the party in the region to ensure fair distribution of the School Feeding Programme to avoid the tendencies where few individuals were benefiting from the programme.

Mr. Kangbere is contesting the Regional Chairmanship position with Mr. Toiba Mahama.

Mr. Kangbere explained that the first four years he served as the party’s Regional Chairman were for work as well as experience gathering in the position which he had done and prayed the delegates would give him the nod to exhibit those experiences for the benefit of the party both nationally and regionally.

According to the Regional Chairman, the inability of the party to retain the five seats or improve on it them was still a success because the three seats the region had is still about 60 percent which is a pass mark as compared to previously when all the seats were lost.

Nancy A. Dery, NPP Women's Organizer Aspirant

On her part, Madam Nancy A. Dery, an aspirant for the Women Organiser’s position, noted that she had realized that the women’s wing of the party is weak which is why she is contesting the position to reshape the portfolio.

She said she is also contesting the position not only for women in the NPP but all women in the region to encourage them to join the party.

According to her, she had gathered enough experience in leadership right from her tertiary school and had what it takes to transform the women’s wing of the party.

The regional elections come off Saturday, May 28, 2022, in Wa in which 35 aspirants will compete for 10 executive committee positions.
