The Nandom Constituency Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Wuoyang Martin, has accused the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of sponsoring Alois Kog Kyaakpier Mohl to contest against the Interior Minister, Mr. Ambrose Dery in the NPP's parliamentary primaries.

According to Mr. Martin, Alois has been going against the provisions of the party constitution by campaigning against Mr. Ambrose Dery in the 2012, 2016 and 2020 general elections.

Therefore, the Nandom Constituency Secretary of the NPP has issued a letter on December 14, 2023, notifying Mr. Alois Kog Kyaakpier Mohl that he has forfeited his membership of the party.

During a recent press conference in Wa, Mr. Alois stated that he was denied a nomination form at both the constituency and regional levels after receiving a letter on December 14, 2023.

As a result, he had to access the nomination form from the online portal and submit the completed form to the party headquarters as directed by the party.

However, Mr. Wuoyang, speaking to Info Radio, alleged that the party has received signals that Mr. Alois is being sponsored by the NDC to run against the incumbent Member of Parliament, Mr. Ambrose Dery.

“All that Alois is doing we are picking signals that is the NDC that is sponsoring him to contest the elections. We know honorable Ambrose Dery is somebody the NDC cannot push out and they want to use Alois,”he stated.

The constituency secretary insists that Mr. Ambrose Dery was the only candidate to file for the parliamentary primaries. He stated that Mr. Alois only participated in a funfair and his filling was illegitimate.

“For us we’re saying his filling at the national secretariat of the New Patriotic Party is inappropriate.”

According to him Mr Alois must prove that they were obstructions at the constituency and regional level before proceeding to the national level.

Mr Martin stated that Mr Alois went on a “funfair expedition.”
