Nadowli-Kaleo District Need a DCE Who can Unite and Build

An American country music singer, television host, actor, and businessman, Jimmy Dean once said: "I can't change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination." This profound quote from Jimmy suits well with the awaiting appointment of MMDCEs in our current dispensation.

Everyone in the Nadowli-Kaleo Constituency is in sharp focus. Each has a favorite person of who he or she wants to become the next DCE for the District. Considering all the wishes, the President has the prerogative and ultimate choice to appoint whoever he deems competent to represent him in the District. Top on the list, what the grassroots of the New Patriotic Party in the Nadowli-Kaleo are seeking and asking for is that, the President's nominee should be a known active party member who is familiar and has respect for party structures.

What is expected of the President's nominee as far as the party is concern? In my considered opinion, the party in the Constituency has become a hot bed of political bickering and can best be described as a conscious effort for a claim to fame. We have been bedeviled with self inflicted wounds leading to a gross disunity within the foundation pillars of the party in the constituency. Any political pundit with a fair appreciation of politics could easily spot gross disunity on the faces of the industry players in the constituency. This disunity has led to the creation and operation of many factions with varied interest in the Constituency.

The next DCE has an enormous task of unifying these factions. It is doable and plausible! Whoever that person may be must exhibit sterling and contemporary leadership skills to bring together the various factions and aggrieved individuals into one boat for us to sail together. It is about time we ended this camp phenomenon in the Constituency. We need to quash completely these factions; say faction A, faction B etc. These groupings are a disservice of monumental magnitude to the party by all standards. Let us all exert our energies on the development wheel of the party to cure our long standing state of being (political orphans.) Anybody (DCE,) who will express willingness and ability to unite the various blocks should not be that of lips service or political talk, he/she must walk the talk and practice what is preached. Action driven with an open heart should be the watch words.

Undoubtedly, for unity to be real, it must stand the severest strain without breaking. We are each other's harvest; we are each other's business; we are each other's magnitude and bond. We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose, the things that unite us are more than those that divide us. The essence of our collective struggles in politics in the Constituency is to win the seat to better the lives of our rural folks. This is and should be the common interest for all party members to watch on the scoreboard. I must also state that unity without verity is not better than conspiracy. We can always disagree to agree on purpose.

I pray and hope that our next DCE for the Nadowli-Kaleo district will have the heart to unite us. Don't forget the old biblical saying that: A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand and divided we fall, united we stand. Oh God, hear my prayers.

Long live Nadowli Kaleo Constituency

Long live NPP.
