Miss Dumba'22: Contest toughens as 6 contestants remain

The ongoing Miss Dumba Beauty Pageantry under the auspices of the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Wa Naa Seidu Fuseini Pelouo IV, has reached its final stages and thus gets tougher and keener as six contestants battle it to the last two stages of the contest.

The pageantry aimed to showcase the rich culture and tradition of the people of the Upper West Region and in turn promote social support services through the projects of the eventual winners.

Come Saturday, one of the six remaining contestants will be withdrawn to pave the way for five to appear at the last and final stage.

Last Saturday, the queens gave out outstanding performances to register their continuation in the contest as evictions were apparent.

It was an exciting and colourful night of performance to behold.

Torikuubu put up an impressive performance to win the prize of Star Performer of the night.

It was her second prize so far as she grabbed the Most Eloquent award in Week 5.

The award for Most Eloquent went to Asin-ma who has so far won most prizes than any other contestant in the competition.

It made her fifth award as she unprecedentedly won Star Performer four times.

Tuurosung also doubled her win for the prize of Best Costume after she swerved judges and the audience off their feet with her beautiful apparel of a queen mother of Wa.

The journey to the Miss Dumba queenship regrettably ended with queens Leila and Lilian as they faced the ugly side of eviction.

It appeared their performances and votes either, could not sustain them in the contest.

Vote statistics as of Saturday

"Today's eviction was based on both votes and performance.

Queen Leila was affected because her performance was not good and her votes was low.

Queen Naalu-Ib was also affected by her performance and her votes couldn't save because it didn't balance," Organizers explained.

Audience and other patrons of the program will miss queen Leila for the high sensationalism she brings up on stage and the entire program.

It appeared she controlled the pulse of the audience as they effortlessly chorussed her name at the least chance.

The grand finale of the Miss Dumba contest is slated for October 11, 2022.
