Alhaji Seidu Abdulai, popularly known as Major, has secured a historic fourth consecutive term as the Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wa West Constituency. His victory was decisive, as he led his team to an overwhelming win, capturing all 11 available constituency executive positions during the elections held on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
The electoral process took place at the Wechiau D/A Primary School, where Team Major faced a formidable rival led by Alhaji Seidu Ibrahim. In his post-election remarks, Alhaji Abdulai expressed humility and gratitude, emphasizing that the victory was a collective achievement rather than a personal milestone. He called for unity within the party, urging members to accept electoral outcomes with maturity and to work collaboratively for the common goal of advancing the party’s agenda. Abdulai assured supporters that his administration remains committed to delivering on campaign promises, emphasizing that their plans are rooted in genuine service to both the party and the constituents.
The re-elected chairman affirmed that opposition team members would not be marginalized but would be actively involved in the party’s growth and development initiatives. Recognizing the experience and capabilities of his rivals, Abdulai emphasized that their contributions remain vital to fostering a more resilient and united Wa West NPP.
