Committee Members of the Loggu Health Committee has issued a urgent appeal to health authorities and development partners to upgrade the community’s existing health facility into a fully equipped polyclinic. The move aims to address the mounting challenges faced by residents and healthcare workers alike, amid increasing demand for quality medical services.
Speaking exclusively to Info Radio, Mr. Alhassan Suleman, Secretary of the Loggu Health Committee, highlighted critical issues plaguing the current facility. “Our health center is severely under-resourced, suffering from a shortage of essential drugs and inadequate bed capacity,” he stated. “This situation is putting immense pressure on healthcare staff and compromising patient safety and comfort.”
Mr. Suleman described the dire conditions faced by patients, noting that limited bed space often forces individuals to sleep on benches or on the floor during treatment—a situation he called “unacceptable and unsafe.” He emphasized that the rapid population growth in Loggu and surrounding areas has significantly increased the demand for comprehensive healthcare services, which the current facility cannot adequately provide.
He appealed to the Ghana Health Service, the Ministry of Health, development partners, and other stakeholders to prioritize the upgrade. Such a development, he explained, would alleviate chronic shortages of medical supplies, improve infrastructure, and ensure residents have access to timely, quality healthcare.
