KG school most pressing need for Gbache community- Assembly member

The Assembly Member for the Gbache Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Ayila Yelsung, has highlighted the pressing needs of his community, with the most urgent being the establishment of a Kindergarten (KG) school.

He explained that the lack of a KG school has deprived the school-going children in his community of a fundamental educational foundation.

While there are class one to Junior High School (JHS) facilities in Gbache and Salimana communities, the absence of KG schools has been a major setback in the children's early education.

During an interview with Info Radio in Wa, Mr Yelsung expressed his concern that the lack of KG schools is adversely affecting the education of the children and the daily activities of their parents.

“Access to kindergarten education is a significant challenge for us here in Gbache. Our school only offers education starting from primary 1 and above. However, education is essential for every child, and if a child is not of a certain age, they cannot enroll in primary 1. Unfortunately, our children between the ages of 1 to 4 do not have the opportunity to attend school due to the lack of a kindergarten school.”

He added that in the area of Health, they do not have a toilet facility at the CHPS compound, and inadequate nurses’ quarters among others were some of their needs.

“Fortunately, we have a CHPS Compound, but there is no toilet or urinal available for the health workers. We need to provide housing for them to stay and deliver quality healthcare services.”

Mr. Yelsung pointed out that while the community needs improvements in roads and water supply, the education and health sectors require more attention.

He made an appeal to the government and all stakeholders to help the community by constructing a kindergarten for the children.
