The Assemblyman for Kanguol Electoral Area in the Lambussie District, Mr. Eric Suglo, has raised concerns over the deplorable state of the Junior High School (JHS) in the Kanguol community, describing the situation as a major setback to education in the area.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio, Mr. Suglo explained that the Kindergarten (KG) block originally built for the community was converted into a JHS, leaving the community without a KG facility.
He added that the JHS building, which was started in 2016, remains uncompleted and abandoned without a roof, forcing pupils and teachers to operate under poor conditions.
“The block that was meant for KG was completed but later converted into the JHS, and since then, for more than eight years, it has been left without any renovation. This has made teaching and learning very frustrating for both students and teachers,” he lamented.

Mr. Suglo is therefore appealing to non-governmental organizations (NGOs), corporate bodies, philanthropists, and the Lambussie District Assembly to intervene and help restore the classrooms so that children in Kanguol can learn in a safe and conducive environment.
He further revealed that challenges extend beyond classrooms, as the caterers of Gbingbaala Basic School are struggling to prepare meals due to the destruction of the school’s kitchen block.
Mr. Suglo emphasized that urgent support is necessary to enhance school infrastructure in the area, thereby preventing a further decline in educational standards.
