The Upper West Regional Coordinator for the Free Senior High School (SHS) Program, Alhaji Adamu Dasaana, has identified indiscipline among students and teachers as a significant factor contributing to the declining appeal of some Senior High Schools in the region.
In an interview with Info Radio, Alhaji Dasaana emphasized that poor academic performance across many SHSs is closely linked to behavioral issues within the schools. He revealed that an investigation is currently underway at one institution in the region where teachers reportedly share the same WhatsApp platform with students, a practice he described as fostering indiscipline and compromising academic integrity.
Alhaji Dasaana urged students to demonstrate determination and a commitment to their studies as they embark on their senior high school journey. He emphasized that success is achievable regardless of the school they are placed in, provided they adopt a serious approach to their education.
The regional coordinator’s comments underscore the need for renewed discipline and proper conduct within the education sector to enhance the quality and attractiveness of Senior High Schools in the Upper West Region.
