Inadequate beds affect healthcare delivery at Takpo-Dambaali health facility

Residents of Takpo-Dambaali in the Takpo Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Kaleo District have decried the inadequate number of beds at the Takpo health facility which adversely affects health delivery.

According to the residents, there are only two beds at the facility for both sick people and delivering of pregnant women.

Speaking to Info Radio at the community, Madam Judith Wa-Naa, a resident of the community, said they have to place some pregnant women on the floor or patients when the beds are occupied.

She added that the facility is serving the community and its surrounding members in terms of health delivery.

Madam Judith, thus indicated that both patients and pregnant women have paired the same beds and room at the facility.

Another resident, Madam Adama Stella added that the health facility lacks a toilet facility and potable water to enhance quality healthcare.

Mr. Stephen Tierekye, who is also a resident of the community, appealed to the district health Directorate to elevate the facility to either Poly Clinic or Health Centre.

He indicated that the community is having Senior High School but the health facility is Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS).
