The Upper West Regional branch of the Ghana Red Cross Society has consolidated its unity with the Ghana Airborne Scout in Wa through unity games.
The two humanitarian groups, at the weekend, held a float with other youth groups and students along some principal streets of Wa in the morning and a football match between the Red Cross and the scout in the evening.
The exercise was organised by the Upper West Regional branch of the Ghana Red Cross Society as part of activities to mark the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, which was commemorated on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
Speaking to Info Radio after the football match, the Upper West Regional Chairperson of the Ghana Red Cross Society, Madam Maria Johanna Yuorpor, explained that the exercise is to bring the people together to work in the interest and development of society.
The Commander of the Ghana Airborne Scout, Mr Yahaya Awa, popularly known as Commander Yahaya, expressed gratitude for the collaboration between the two groups.
The Ghana Red Cross Society also visited the Wa Municipal Hospital to interact with and make a modest donation to the Children on admission at the Children's Ward and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, NICU.
