Final Farewell: Eric Johnson to Be Laid to Rest Tomorrow

The late Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Royal Cossy Hills Hotel, Mr Eric Johnson, will be laid to rest on June 1, 2024.

The 60-year-old business mogul was tragically murdered at his private residence in Jirapa on February 11, 2024.

At present, three individuals are on trial at the Wa High Court for the brutal murder of Mr Eric Johnson.

The funeral will take place in Jirapa in the Jirapa Municipality. According to the late Jirapa Dubai’s CEO obituary, he will be laid in state at the Jirapa Nayiri Park at 11 a.m. and interred at the Royal Cossy Hills Hotel.

A thanksgiving service will be held in his honour on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jirapa at 10:30 a.m. He is survived by three children and two grandchildren.

The late Mr. Eric Kwame Johnson was born on 24th December, 1964 in Jirapa , Upper West Region, He was the beloved son of Grace Derpog Abiere. Growing up in a close[1]knit community, Eric developed a strong sense of determination and resilience from an early age.

Eric began his educational journey at St. Anthony's Boys Primary School in Jirapa before advancing to Lawra Secondary School for further studies. The enigmatic and unpredictable ways of divine providence unfolded when Mr. Youri Johnson and his esteemed wife, Grace Derpog, found themselves entangled in an unfortunate accident during their journey to the Volta Region.

It was in this moment of serendipity that the late Mr. Peter Tenganabang Nafuri (retired IGP and former Paramount Chief of the Jirapa Traditional Area) extended his benevolent hand, assuming the role of a nurturing guardian to young Eric, thereby shaping his path forward.

In 1987, Eric embarked on a pioneering journey by establishing Intermerc Ltd in Accra, which officially commenced operations in January 1988.

Specializing in a diverse range of sectors such as water engineering and equipment, instrumentation, electronic and electrical equipment, as well as the provision of water treatment chemicals, installation of control panels, pumps, and office equipment, Intermerc (GH) Ltd showcased its versatile expertise.

Furthermore, the company demonstrated its proficiency in international tender bidding and contract execution with exemplary professionalism, as evidenced by its enduring track record of consistent satisfactory performance across various business landscapes.

Drawing upon his wealth of experience and inherent creativity, Eric later founded Royal Cosy Hills, a company dedicated to delivering unparalleled hospitality experiences. Under his visionary stewardship, Royal Cosy Hills swiftly ascended to prominence, attracting visitors from far and near.

Eric's unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation set unprecedented benchmarks in the hospitality industry, garnering widespread acclaim and admiration. Deeply devoted to philanthropy, Eric actively championed initiatives aimed at uplifting his community.

He established educational programs and generously provided scholarships to aspiring youth, empowering them to pursue their aspirations and contribute meaningfully to society.

In October 1990, Eric entered matrimony with Olivia Narteh, a union that blossomed with the arrival of three charming daughters: Grace, Karen, and Elfreda. Regrettably, the union came to an end after many joyful years together. Eric's profound affection for his daughters knew no bounds; he cherished them dearly and proudly extolled their virtues whenever the occasion arose.

His love and pride for them were palpable in every interaction. Before his passing, Eric was graciously bestowed with the joy of meeting his beloved grandchildren, a testament to the abundant blessings bestowed upon his family by the grace of God. On Sunday, 11th February, 2024, Eric was tragically murdered.

Thus, the life of Eric Johnson, the CEO of Intermerc Ltd and Royal Cosy Hotel, a business mogul and philanthropist, came to an end. Eric's' legacy is one of resilience, innovation, and compassion.
