The youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the weekend organized a football match between Fian Community and Issa Community in the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency.
The match was won by Fian Community with a narrow 1-0 score line.
The event was sponsored by John Dramani Mahama, the NDC 2024 presidential candidate, and Dr. Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare, the Member of Parliament and parliamentary candidate.
The aim of the event was to promote camaraderie and unity among party members ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.
Mr. James Wor, the Daffiama Bussei Issa Constituency Secretary for the NDC, congratulated both communities and urged them to throw their full support behind the party to secure victory in the upcoming polls.
Mr. Desmond Tampuore, the Youth Organizer of the NDC, emphasized the importance of fostering unity within the party through events like the football gala. He highlighted that such initiatives are instrumental in galvanizing support and momentum as they gear up for the electoral battle in 2024.
Former Deputy Youth organizer of the NDC, Mr. Ansofanga Dabanguu, commended the organizers for their efforts in bringing the communities together and encouraged even more active participation in future events.
Residents of the constituency expressed their gratitude to the Member of Parliament for organizing the gala football matches, recognizing the significance of such initiatives in promoting sportsmanship and community cohesion.
Both Fian and Issa teams were rewarded for their performance with a set of jerseys and footballs.
