Farmers at Holomuni blame chiefs for crop destruction by cattle

The people of Holomuni, a community in the Kpalworgu Electoral Area of the Wa East District are blaming the chiefs and traditional leaders in the community for the presence of Fulani herdsmen around their area and the destruction their animals are causing to their crops.

They said the once vibrant cassava hub in the district has virtually been reduced to a famine-stricken community.

Speaking to Info Radio at the community, Bieko Amadu, a resident, said they the ordinary indigenes have no authority to sack theses Fulani herdsmen from the community without the backing of their leaders.

He said even though their Assembly Member has helped to put some measures in place, the destruction of herdsmen have not ceased.
