The Member of Parliament for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa Constituency, Dr Sebastian Sandaare, has promised the people of the Fian Electoral Area an Educational fund to support brilliant but needy school children in the electoral area.
The MP made the promise at Fian during the celebration of this year’s Gbogbolo festival of the chiefs and people of the Pulbara community.
According to Dr Sandaare, he had earlier established educational funds in several electoral areas in the constituency and a lot of students have benefitted from the fund so far.
"When I established educational funds in certain electoral areas, they were able to assist a number of students. However, it's impossible to do everything at once, so you have to start somewhere.
Now is the time for the Fian Electoral Area to have its own educational fund because there are orphans and less privileged children in the area. That's why I believe it's their turn to receive assistance through an educational fund,” he stated.
The District Chief Executive for the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa District Nadi Imoro Sanda outlined some developmental projects been executed by the government.
"You have heard that the chief himself commended the government for providing several developmental projects, including boreholes, a road extension, and a CHPS Compound.
The community's major concern now is the lack of a daycare facility and a teacher's bungalow. The government plans to provide those resources in 2024 if we get the funds,” he added.
