Dorimon Sub-district Health Service records zero Maternal Mortality

The Dorimon sub-district in charge of Health Services, Mr Dalo Karim, says the sub-district has recorded zero maternal mortality for the years 2022 and 2023.

He attributed this success story to the hard work of the health workers and all stakeholders in the sub-district.

Mr Dalo made this disclosure at the end-of-year performance review meeting of the Dorimon Sub-district of the Ghana Health Service at Gbache.

He mentioned that they were able to offer pregnancy tests for over 90 percent of pregnant women and all of them delivered successfully.

“In 2023, our sub-district was filled with excitement as we were recognized as the best-performing sub-district during the district's end-of-year performance review meeting. This year, we saw the highest number of people attending the hospital in the past six years, with over 16,000 individuals seeking medical care at our various health facilities within the sub-district,” he added.

He thus commended the staff of the Sub-district for that performance. He however noted that the Dorimon sub-district is challenged with inadequate means of transport.

He also stressed the need for the Dorimon Health Centre to be upgraded to a Polyclinic.

Meanwhile, the Wa West District Health Director, Madam Cecilia Kakariba, applauded the In Charge and his staff for the success chalked.
