Dilapidated nature of our school affects teaching and learning - Ga residents

Some residents of Ga in the Wa West District, have bemoaned the dilapidated state of the basic school at the Ga Community, saying it is adversely affecting teaching and learning at the school.

They said aside the population of the school outweighing the classrooms, there are also no furniture for the school children.

The Unit Committee Chairman for the Ga Electoral Area, Maalibunaa Saaka, who said this in an interview with Info Radio at Ga, observed that the school children are forced to sit on the bare floor to write while the all the doors and windows of the school are broken.

Mr Saaka also noted that the school has no befitting facility to accommodate the Kindergarten children.

He said the existing Kindergarten facility was provided by the community some years back, and that it has become too small to accommodate the children.

The Unit Committee chairman therefore appealed to the government, the Wa West District Assembly and benevolent individuals and organizations to come to their aid by providing the school with befitting facilities to facilitate teaching and learning.

Meanwhile, Info Radio will follow up on this story and bring you detailed report on state of the school and the actions taken by the appropriate authorities.
