Dental Technician urges public to visit Dental Clinic

A Dental Technician at the Upper West Regional Hospital, Mr Mahamudu Abdul Karim, is urging the general public to visit the dental clinic to check their teeth voluntarily to prevent tooth decay.

He believes that teeth are crucial and should be a part of everyone's healthcare routine. He suggests that the first daily activity should be to brush your teeth immediately after waking up.

Mr Mahamudu expressed this during an interview with Info Radio to commemorate this year's International Oral Day. He emphasized the importance of visiting the Dental Clinic twice a year to check oral health.

He stressed that brushing teeth two times a day with fluoride-containing toothpaste is essential.

Most toothpaste, he said, contains fluoride, “so you should brush your teeth first thing in the morning and the last thing before going to bed.”

Mr Mahamudu expressed concern that many people in the region do not visit the dental clinic. He advised the general public to visit the dental clinic twice a year for a dental examination.
