DBI: DCE appealed to NHIA to employ qualified natives in new district office

The District Chief Executive for Daffiama Bussie Issa (DBI), Nadi Imoro Sanda, has appealed to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to consider employing qualified natives to operate in the new NHIA ultra-modern office complex in the district.

He explained that employing qualified locals would be beneficial to the authority since they have a better understanding of the area.

Mr. Sanda made the appeal during the inauguration of the new office complex of the NHIA by its CEO, Dr. Bernard Oko Boye in Issa, the district capital.

Before the opening of the new office, the NHIA operation in the district was overseen by the Nadowli-Kaleo district office.

Mr. Sanda commended the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NHIA for his efforts and commitment towards the completion of the office building. He also used the occasion to appeal to the CEO to provide the office with a vehicle to aid their movement.

The DCE also congratulated the NHIA CEO on his new appointment as a health minister-designate. He was optimistic that the outgoing CEO would continue to support the district even in his new role as health minister.

The Acting Upper West Regional Manager of the NHIA, Samuel Lobber Lekwame, mentioned that 82% of the region's population has been covered. Currently, the Upper West region is the leading region in terms of coverage.

Dr. Okoe Boye, the NHIA CEO, emphasized the pivotal role of the NHIA in ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare services for all citizens.

He articulated the authority's strategic vision to leverage technology and innovation to address healthcare challenges. He commended the DCE for his constant follow-up to ensure that the project was completed.
