Residents of Charile in the Eggu Electoral Area of Wa West District, have appealed to the government to assist them in completing a maternity unit that they had started but ran out of resources to finish.

They said the completion of the maternity unit will help improve their access to maternal healthcare services. The women in the community are also concerned about the absence of a midwife and electricity in the clinic.

Kweku Laningdoma spoke on behalf of the chief of Charile, emphasizing that the construction of a dam in the community would greatly benefit irrigation farmers.

He also urged the government to consider the inclusion of the community's school in the Ghana School Feeding Programme.

Meanwhile, the Assembly Member of the Eggu Electoral Area, Mr Ephraim Dassah, said plans are in advance for work to commence on the dam.
