BarCamp Project Gives Youth the Opportunity to Network and Learn-GhanaThink Foundation


GhanaThink Foundation, at the weekend, held a BarCamp for the youth in Wa to network and learn from mentors.


The program dubbed “Culture, Finance and Quality”, brought together experience people from all sectors of lives to mentor the youth.


In an interview with the Director for GhanaThink Foundation, Ato Ulzen- Appiah, he explained that the purpose of the program is to guide the youth in making the right decision through capacity building.


The GhanaThink Foundation over the weekend organized a BarCamp for the youth aimed at providing an opportunity to network and learns from mentors.


The program was titled “Culture, Finance and Quality” and brought together experienced individuals from all sectors of life to provide mentorship to young people.

The Director of GhanaThink Foundation, Ato Ulzen-Appiah, in an interview with Info Radio explained that the purpose of the program is to guide the youth in making the right decisions through capacity building.


Mr Appiah stated that “BarCamps are basically free networking forums for young people around Ghana.”


He mentioned that the GhanaThink Foundation holds Barcamps in 10 regional capitals of Ghana including Kasoa and Tema in the Greater Accra Region.


“We had our very first BarCamp Wa in 2015 and this is the sixth edition that we are in 2024. For us we are committed to building this network as part of building a critical mass of young Ghanaians who are patriotic, passionate, positive, proactive, progressive and productive,” he stated.


The Team Lead for the BarCamp in the Upper West Region, Mr Jeremiah Afako, said the program also seeks to enlighten the youth to take initiative that will better their lives.

“As GhanaThink we want to have a critical mass of young men and women that are thinking outside the box. We don’t want the notion that has always been there that the government needs to provide us jobs…we want this crop of young men and women to start thinking outside the box, to start being innovative, being creative and being thoughtful about so many things,” he added.


Farida Amankwah, a participant, expressed joy for the program and encouraged organizers to bring more of such programs.
