Assembly Member for Samantigu Distributes Sanitary Products to Promote Personal Hygiene Among Students

The Assembly Member for the Samantigu Electoral Area in the Nadowli-Kaleo District of the Upper West Region  Hon. Millicent Zuuri has distributed sanitary pads and Bar soaps to students within her electoral as Christmas gifts. The donation aims to encourage personal hygiene practices among students and to foster a supportive environment for both girls and boys.

Addressing members of the community during an event held at Kaluri, which coincided with a gun amnesty program involving local students, Madam Zuuri emphasized the importance of personal hygiene for health and well-being. She appealed to parents to ensure their children are well-maintained, urging them to provide sanitary pads for their girls and soaps for washing uniforms and bathing.

Madam Zuuri also highlighted a concerning neglect of support for boys, calling for equal attention to personal hygiene needs across genders. She encouraged parents to instill good hygiene habits, including washing and bathing children before school.

Speaking on the significance of these initiatives, the Assembly Member reiterated, “Personal hygiene is paramount for health issues, and we must work together to promote it among our youth.”

The community appreciated the gesture, viewing it as a vital step toward improving health awareness and hygiene practices among students in the area.
