All Senior High Schools have been mapped to a Health facility – Ghana Health Service


The Ghana Health Services says all Senior High Schools in the region have been linked to health facilities in the as part of measures to help protect the students against the COVID-19.


It said all basic schools have also been provided health personnel, particularly in the Upper West Region.


The Upper West Regional Director of Health Service, Dr. Punjunyire Damien, who revealed this to Info News in an interview in Wa yesterday, January 26, 2020 added that the move will help ensure smooth running of academic activities amidst the virus.


He noted that the Ghana Health Services in collaboration with the Upper Ghana Education Service has put measures such as frequent supervision of various schools to ensure the safety of teachers and students against the virus.


He advised the public to strictly observe the COVID-19 safety precaution such as frequent washing of hands and early reporting to the nearest health facility to help stop the spread of the virus.


You recall as at 26th January, the Upper West Region recorded 64 active cases, five on admission and one in a critical condition and five deaths.


The health director said all the districts and municipalities in the region have at least a case of COVID-19.
