Mr Agyekum Reagan, a 33-year-old professional nurse at the Upper West Regional Hospital, has been recognized as the overall best-performing staff for 2023.
In an interview with Info Radio, Mr Agyekum expressed his happiness and gratitude for the recognition, stating that he was thrilled after he was announced as the top-performing staff of the hospital.
He also shared details of his work experience within the Ghana Health Service in the Upper West Region.
“Oh wow! It has been awesome because I least expected this, anyway; little did I know my work efforts were seen by many and then I couldn’t have imagined a crowd like that cheering me up and I was so impressed,” he expressed.
He mentioned that he has received several calls from colleagues outside the region congratulating him on the awards.
Mr Agyekum said he is happy working in the Upper West Region as a nurse and further appealed to his colleague staff to work more effectively to bring better development to the region.
He added that “I think my unique area is getting closer to the patients, putting smiles on their faces. Sometimes I create jokes, most at times when there is an aged patient I’m been tagged as the husband of the patient,” he talked of his relationship with patients.
