Access to basic social amenities at Kumbiehi Bakpong remains challenging - Assembly Member

The Assembly Member for Kumbiehi Electoral Area, Mr Rauf Saani has bemoaned the lack of social amenities and challenges residents of Kumbiehi Bakpong go through at the community.

Mr Saani lamented that residents of the area enjoys no single social amenity, saying they live in pity and misery.

He cited that the community lacks potable drinking water, and that they charge their mobile phones in town because they have no access to electricity.

Mr Saani added that the road network in the area is nothing to write home about, even though the community is a part of the Wa Municipality.

Mr Saani revealed that a philanthropist had recently sank a borehole for the community which he was appreciative of but further called for more, saying that the single borehole cannot serve the water needs of the entire community.

He called on Non-Governmental Organizations as well as benevolent individuals to come to their assistance.

While saying little drops of water makes a mighty ocean, he also appealed to the government through the Municipal Assembly to consider connecting the community to the water grid from Jambusi.

The Assembly was speaking in an interview with Info Radio’s late afternoon show, Te Zine Yiri Yela regarding issues of his electoral area which need urgent attention.
