Upper West To Plant 300,000 Trees on Green Ghana Day



The Upper West Region joined the rest of the country on Friday 9th June, 2023 to mark . Green Ghana Day.

The 2023 national event targets to plant Ten Million Trees . Three hundred Thousand trees has been targeted to be planted in the Upper West Region.


The Green Ghana day exercise is expected to take place at different locations in the region including individual homes, offices market places among others with each person expected to plant at least one tree.

The Upper West Regional office of the Forestry Commission said tree seedlings for the exercise have so far been distributed while some institutions and individuals have so far planted their seedling. Mr Godfred Quashigah, the Upper West Regional Manager of the Forestry Commission told Info Radio in an interview that the public should to show much interest in the exercise and plant at least one tree to mark the Green Ghana Day because the existence of trees is for the good human beings.


He said due to the enthusiasm of the people in the about the tree planting, some individuals and institutions including the S.D Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies have already done the planting.
