Residents of Piree say bad nature of roads affects their daily activities

Residents of Piree in the Sombo East Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Kaleo District have complained about the deplorable state of the road linking the community to other communities in the area.

They said the bad state of the roads is hindering their daily economic activities.

They said the roads were first constructed since 2001 and has since not undergone any form of reshaping till date.

In an interview with Info Radio at the community, Mr. Ngmenlanaa Kuuri David, a resident, said the road from Kanyini to Piree and from Piree to Sombo and others are all in a bad state resulting in a whole lot of accidents and causing harms.

Another resident, Mr. Dakurah Galbert, said the road from Piree to Naro is a major road because when they refer a patient to Nadowli health facility that is where he or she must pass to access the health facility but said that road is very bad.

They indicated that, the community members always mobilized communal labor to fill the portholes and to maintain the roads but that their efforts are not enough to put the road in a good condition.

They have therefore appealed to the government and the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly to come to their aid.
