Residents of Nator appeal to govt, NGOs to support school with furniture

Residents of Nator community in the Nator-East Electoral Area of the Nadowli-Kaleo District have appealed to the government and benevolent non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to come to their aid and support their school with furniture.

They indicated that the children overweigh the furniture that is available in the school.

Speaking to Info Radio News Team at the community, Madam Christiana Nagaye indicated that their Kindergarten (KG), Primary and Junior high Schools in the community lacks sufficient furniture which affects their children academic performance in the community.

Madam Naturo Florence, a resident said their children do not have furniture as result, some lie and others sit on the floor while undertaking academic instructions.

Madam Florence disclosed, unhappily, that their children are dropping out of school as a result of the inadequate furniture.

Madam Regina Domayiri lamented that the children sitting on the bare floor is causing guardians a lot of financial expenses as they have to buy soap all the time to wash their uniforms.

“But the cost of soap is also high,” she lamented, saying that “sometimes the children go to school in unkempt uniform” which they are not proud of as parents and guardians.

The residents, therefore, appealed to government and benevolent entities and individuals to support their school with furniture.
