Partner MMDAs and communities to drive domestic tourism – Minister to stakeholders and businesses

Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih, Upper West Regional Minister

The Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has encouraged business owners and stakeholders within the tourism sector to partner with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and communities to drive domestic tourism, foster a culture of travel and attract tourists to the region.

He indicated that the lack of developed facilities is a key challenge that discourages people from patronizing the various tourist sites in the region and communities.

He said that goes a long way to deny the people and the country the needed foreign exchange.

Dr. Salih also urged the media to develop innovative programs that will attract thousands of people to the tourist sites in the region.

He said this in Wa on Tuesday, September 26, 2022, during the occasion of the World Tourism Day 2022 celebration held on the theme: “Rethink Tourism”.
