Eggu Electoral Area Appeal For Good Roads

The Assembly Member for Eggu Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Dassah Y. Ephraim, has lamented about the poor state of feeder roads in his electoral area.

According to the Assembly Member, his electoral area is the largest electoral area in the Wa West District which comprises 24 communities but is challenged with good access roads.

The poor road networks makes it difficult for farmers to access the market with their farm produce, especially during the rainy season.

Speaking to Info Radio in Wa, Mr Dassah Ephraim, said the European Union roads project only linked few communities to the major road but some communities do not have access roads connected to the major road. He added that some residents cannot access their health facility, school and market because they do not have access roads. Mr Dassah Ephraim, noted that the District Assembly is aware of their roads situation but never acts on their concerns.

He therefore appealed to the Wa West District Assembly and the government to come to the aid of the affected communities by rehabilitating their roads .

Mr Dassah Ephraim also called on the Wa West District Assembly to provide a number of boreholes in some communities in his electoral area since the absence of boreholes in some communities has compelled some residents to drink from streams and rivers.
