Culture is very important and should be sustained- Professor Africanus

Professor Africanus Lewil Diedong, the Dean of Faculty of Integrated Development Studies of the SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) says culture is very important in national development and should be sustained.

He said culture is everything; it is the sole of a nation and should be sustained. He indicated that culture is important to every country and should be projecting its values and norms.

Prof Diedong said this at the launch of the Upper West Cultural Week celebration in Wa when he represented the Vice Chancellor of the SDD-UBIDS, Professor Philip Duku.

“The importance is culture is such that it needs to be very well projected in the agenda of Ghana beyond Aid. One importance about that is that when you highlight culture in such a project it should be maintained,” he stated.

Prof. Diedong cited countries like China, India, Italy, Spain and the rest which sustained their culture and they are developed.
