Be self-disciplined on the road, Police Commander urges road users

The Nadowli-Kaleo District Police Commander of the Ghana Police Service, Superintendent James Ackan has urged commuters to be self-disciplined by observing all road regulations without police instructions.

According to him, police officers cannot be everywhere at the same time to instruct people to slowdown when they are over speeding.

He however said drivers and motorcycle riders can discipline themselves by avoiding over-speeding and other reckless driving attitudes which can easily result in accident and loss of life and property.

Supt. Ackan advised road users should observe and obey road signs and traffic regulations.

He further admonished road users to not drive when drunk while urging vehicle users to go for their license from the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).

He was optimistic that the coaching on road signs, rules and regulation of the road from the DVLA would help mitigate the rampancy of road accidents.
