220 pupils of Gengenkpe school benefit from free eye screening


The Bobmilliar Foundation, based in the Upper West Region, in collaboration with Bliss Eye Care, has organized free eye screening for pupils at Gengenkpe Basic School in the Naadom Municipality.


In all, about 220 pupils including other people in the community were screened and given eye drops and those requiring eyeglasses were also given.


Speaking to the media after the screening exercise, the Chief Executive Officer for Bobmilliar Foundation, Mr. BobMilliar Gorden, said the foundation is focused on soliciting funds to support youth in deprived communities with the aim of impacting the lives of people.


The BobMilliar Foundation and Heeyah Baquree Foundation also donated menstrual cups and clothes to the pupils after the screening to help the girls who find it difficult to afford sanitary pads.


The Executive Director for Heeyah Baquree Foundation, Miss Mohamed Numbo Fathiyat, spoke to the media.


A parent whose child benefited from the screening, Madam Hamidatu Kassim, praised Bliss Eye Care and BobMilliar Foundation for the intervention.
