Reverend Sister Joan Donkpiire of the Handmaids of the Holy Child Jesus has eulogised His Eminence Richard Cardinal Kuuia Baawobr, M.Afr of blessed memory for his love and passion for humanity and that his death is a big blow to them.
She said she could not believe he is dead and doubted if they would get somebody like him again.
Rev. Sis. Donkpiire said this in an interview with Info Radio in Wa on the demise of Richard Cardinal Baawobr which, according to the Vatican, occurred on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Rome.
A statement issued by the Catholic Diocesan Secretariat (Maria Yiri), Wa on Monday, November 28, 2022, called for prayers for the repose of His Eminence Richard Cardinal Kuuia Baawobr, M.Afr.
Recounting some of the initiatives of Cardinal Baawobr, she said recalled the institution of the Common Jubilee to celebrate married couples who had lived exemplary lives for 25 years or more alongside the celebration of silver and golden jubilees of the priests and the Religious.
She also observed that the late Cardinal Baawobr was passionate about the education and development of, not only children, but also priests within the Diocese.
“The whole place was dark, as if I had an electrical shock, I was just confused sitting there. I didn’t know where I was. I didn’t know what to do,” she recounted how she received the bad news.
