Lack of accessible roads at Nator Longborzu is a big challenge – residents say


Residents of Nator Longborzu in the Nadowli/Kaleo District have bemoaned the lack of accessible roads linking the community to other adjourning communities.


They complained about the muddy and slippery nature of the roads whenever it rained, which they stated made it difficult for them to move freely to their destinations.


Some of the residents said that drivers especially, commercial ones often try to dodge the numerous potholes on the road, putting the lives of pedestrians and passengers in danger.


The residents told Info Radio that due to the bad nature of the roads, it was difficult to rush sick people to the hospital on time during emergencies .


The Unit Committee Chairman of the community, Seidu Sumani, stated that the Nator Longborizu has no single motorable road which is hindering economic activities.


Narrating their ordeal, the unit committee chairman reveal that, the remote routes also pose a serious health risk to pregnant women who have to access delivery and antenatal care services at a nearby health facility.


Seidu Sumana further stated that the Nadowli-Kaleo District Assembly assured to give them a grader to open up roads in the community but has failed to honor its promised.
