Professor Emmanuel Derbile, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of the SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SD-UBIDS), has urged the government to make judicious use of the oil revenue for the benefit of future generations.
He said the oil resources were exhaustive and that if care was not taken those resources would be exhausted with nothing tangible to show as proceed of the oil revenue.
Prof. Derbile said this at a public forum organized by the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) to create a platform for the public to debate on the management and use of petroleum funds.
Heads of Departments and agencies including the security services, political party representatives, Civil Society Organisations, and traditional leaders among others attended the forum.
Prof Derbile indicated the need for targeted investment of petroleum resources to achieve the needed development for the country.
