91% of COVID-19 Infected Persons in Ghana Show No Symptoms.


The Ghana health Service has disclosed that only 9% of people infected with the COVID-19 virus show symptoms, while 91% do not show symptoms at all.

Briefing the Ghanaian press on Tuesday to provide updates on the corona-virus situation in Ghana , the Director-General of the GHS, Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye revealed that the commonest symptom of the corona-virus infection in Ghana is cough . Although in other countries it is a fever, in Ghana this is not the case.

He added that , Children are more likely to show milder symptoms of COVID-19 than adults.


Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye described Ghanas critical cases as respiratory failure or other organ failure requiring life support.


According to hime, Ghana has a three-pronged response strategy: prevent the importation into areas without recorded cases; intensifying isolation, contact tracing in areas at hotspots and areas where community transmission has set in; and monitoring and treatment of patients.

Ghana has recorded 156 new coronavirus cases, bringing the national tally to 6,964.Of the total count 6,964 , 2,097 have recovered .


Ghana expects more recoveries in the coming days as thousands of infected persons has so far tested their first road of negatives.


Fifteen people, according to Ghana's health director are battling with severe conditions of the disease but the number of deaths from the disease still stands at 32.
